Battlefield 2 is a first-person shooter developed by Digital Illusions CE and published by EA Games.

By playing online the players can gather points for the global ranking. If a player has enough points, he is promoted to the next higher rank and can unlock new weapons and awards.

The storyline takes place in Middle- and Eastern-Asia in the near future. In this fictional war, the US Marine Corps fights against China and the fictional "Middle Eastern Coalition". So the players can use the most modern weapons like the F-35 Lightning II fighter or the T90 tank. It´s also possible to choose between different classes like medic, assault, sniper and others.

Because Battlefield 2 is a tactic shooter, teamplay is very important. One player by team can be the commander who issues instructions on his team. The other players can group themselves into squads.

In every round two teams are playing. At the beginning of the round, both teams have a certain amount of tickets. By eliminating an enemy the teams can reduce the number of tickets of the other team. The team that has more tickets at the end of the round wins.

Battlefield 2 is the sequel of Battlefield 1942 and Battlefield Vietnam. The most recent game of the Battlefield series is Battlefield 2142.

There is also an addon named Special Forces in which several special forces (e. g. SAS) can be played. Also two so called "booster packs" are available: Euro Forces which brings the army of the European Union into the game and Armored Fury which relocates the storyline to North America.

Battlefield 2 is one of the most popular games in it´s genre. Battlefield: Vietnam was very similair to its predecessor, Battlefield 1942 , because In the beginning of a match the player picks from a set of kits that are like player classes. Each kit has their own weapons, tools and purpose. After the player has chosen a kit he/she was required to capture the enemy capture points and defend them until the enemy team's tickets reached zero or a number significantly lower than your team's. The player has a variety of vehicles to choose from including the otehr team's that appear in certain capture points around the map.Strike at Karkand is an urban combat map included in Battlefield 2. It is currently unique in that it is the only map which does not include any aircraft (of any kind) on any of its sizes. It is the most popular map online, perhaps because of its ommision of attack helicopters, which many players criticize as 'overpowered'.
Strike at Karkand often turns into a "Frag fest" with most of the points coming from grenade kills after all players lob them into well traveled areas. Claymores are often used prominently as well.
Strike at Karkand is most used map in the "Infantry only" game mode.The storyline of Battlefield: Bad Company revolves around a particular four man squad of military misfits during a fictional war in the near-future that pits the Russian Federation against the United States. What the two sides are fighting for is not discussed, although at one point one character asks what its about, another says natural gas. This cause of the war is of little importance to the characters. This squad is one of many found in the "B" Company of the 222nd Army battalion, more commonly known as "Bad Company". This company is composed of the insubordinate troublemakers whose use in the battlefield is limited to the role of cannon fodder. Because of this, "Bad Company" is often sent before Special Forces because they are "expendable". less info
