Released in 1992 by Midway, Total Carnage was developed by Mark Turmell who also co-developed Smash TV. Both use two joysticks, 1 for moving and the other for shooting. Player 1 controls Captain Carnage while player 2 controls Major Mayhem. Both are sent to stop a Middle Eastern dictator named General Akhboob who is building an army of mutants and stockpiling chemical weapons.

    Yeah, it's an unofficial sequel. It uses the same formula as Smash TV.

    I don't remember seeing this one in the arcades. But I sure loved SMASH TV. Looks like a very similar game engine.
