The reason Savage 2 sucked is because their head programmer left. He, and a few of the other original members of s2 games, are working on project offset. When they made savage 2 it was only noobs left, pretty much.

Since the creation of this video they have fixed:
    - The varied map design issue
    - The identical class issue (somewhat)
    - The terrible combat system
    - The terrible economic system
    - The useless ranged weapons

Only leaves upgrades and tech levels.
Clearly these things weren't fixed because there was an issue with them right?.. oh wait..

I wonder if this guy has even played savage2, or if he played it then just got his butt kicked then posted an angry video from to vent before playing wow.
perspective is a wonderful thing isnt it?

    Very much agree with YouDontKnowMe.
I also agree that tech trees and commander mode in general have been simplified too much. But your approach on savage 2 is, you think it's bad, and then give us arguments why. You don't take S2 as a game of its own and judge it neutrally. Many good things about S1 have been lost. But that doesn't make S2 a bad game!
You criticize the small differences between units. This is simply wrong! All units require a unique approach and playstile, even in melee combat. They have their own strengths you have to use.
Also map design is not really relevant, although the standard maps will be played a lot, we are not limited to them.

    ********NOTICE*******

The creator of this video has made many incorrect assumptions of the game he critics. His conclusions are invalid due to his gross misconception about how this game works. He states his opinion and claims it to be facts, despite having no proper grounds to make his claims.

If you are going to watch this video, be warned, it is easy to be drawn into the video due to it's clever visual cues, however 90% of what Javdani claims is wrong.

I completely agree. S2Games obviously didn't understand how great Savage 1 really was, and instead of becoming a great company that makes enjoyable and popular games, and best of all a sequel of Savage 1 that is far superior to it, they decided to try and make a very rare and different game and they fucked up.. Obviously the Community-made Patches like XR aren't enough proof.

Oh and if you don't mind me asking, what's the music at the start?
