Terminal Velocity

This is a 1995 DOS game from 3d Realms/Apogee. The first third of the game was released as shareware; environments from the full version are shown here. All the levels were on a planet with a different environment, such as water, snow, lava, and even computer. The head programmer for this game was one of the lead programmers for Microsoft's Flight Simulator games. Terminal Velocity had several unique features, most notably the ability to fly underground through tunnels and also engage in dogfights above the cloud cover. This triple-tiered environment made for some fun multi player matches; I remember my roommate being much better at this game than I was. Microsoft released a very similar game called Fury, which used the same engine but was Windows 95 only. The game also featured SVGA graphics as an option.
