I meant really in-depth, this was just a on-the-surface thing.

"i never claimed this to be some sort of how-it-works thing."

I hate to nitpick but this is taken from the vid description: "...how the hitboxes work in TF2." : P. Still, nice video : ).

  • Mindless2164 5 months ago

That`s nothing compared to the "hitboxes" in WoW.

Oh, and btw, MMOBebe, WE DON`T F**KING CARE!!

  • NickOFreak 5 months ago

Its the same in all source games.

It has to do with the bullet delay due to your connection to the server afaik.

    Cool video GMan

This is....interesting. This explains alot also. Sometimes as sniper, I get headshots on a heavy, and, like in the video, it just shows the blood affect and i feel completely counfused, the heavy saw me, and i died. I did this later a little more "off" the heavys head and get a headshot..

"completely inaccurate, lag compensation is on by default and he is shooting this video in a lag free environment."

when did the video ever say it was off by default?

and of course its lag-free, you can only do this on listen servers.

people wanted to see what hitboxes looked like, here they go...silly comments. i never claimed this to be some sort of how-it-works thing.

  • Mastrmind 5 months ago

The command is sv_showhitboxes, and sv_cheats must be on.

  • mattsabbathx 5 months ago

the reason the hit box is behind because it acts as though you're leading the shot, because rather than valve making a bullet travel through space, it's just where you click.

  • vegittoss15 5 months ago

it's due to lag compensation...try it on a lan game and you will see the hitboxes follow the player much more tightly

  • uglyphuhk 5 months ago

    inaccurate

Read and learn why this video is misleading.

How do you view the hitboxes?

  • Mouse81 5 months ago

thank god for interpolation though, cs is bad enough, and thats only relatively slow moving targets

  • olicon 5 months ago

The later part really show how lag compensation works. I have to say, I've heard of the word being thrown around a lot, but never quite know this is how it works.

read this and stop being a retard

what you're seeing is the hitboxes with no interpolation values. the actual bullet impacts are fine

  • OfficeNinja 5 months ago

Wow, Nice find so the command is cl_lagcompensation ?
