In honor of the new Indiana Jones movie, I thought I'd post a few old Indiana Jones games. This is Raiders of the Lost Ark for the Atari 2600, published by Atari and designed by Howard Scott Warshaw. This game was well-received at the time; in fact, Warshaw was later hand picked to designed the infamous E.T. game due in part to his success here. Raiders is mostly an adventure game, where you find, trade and interact with objects and search for hidden locations. Much of the game is solved by a lot of trial and error. The game used the novel approach by requiring the player to use both of the Atari one-button joysticks; one for movement, the other for inventory management.
Time hasn't really been kind to this game for me - what at the time seemed like puzzles now seem like limitations of technology to me. On YouTube you can find people with more patience and fond memories of this game who solve it. less info
