Originally released on SNES in 1994, and then other systems in 1994 and 1995, Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure for Windows is significant for being the first Windows 95 game (shown here), and used heavily as a promotional tool for Microsoft's DirectX . It's been ported to just about every system imaginable. The original Atari Pitfall! is an unlockable secret level in this game. You actually play Pitfall Harry Jr. in this version, searching for his dad who has been kidnapped or lost or something. I'm not a big fan of this game, I never really got into 90's console platformers, but I'll take this any day over the NES version of Pitfall. less info
