Or you could hunt down all the valuable minerals in a system, that gives you the majority of your credits right there, and it has the added benefit of leveling you up faster. One could be level 45 before doing Noveria.

Or you could always play through the game as normal, You get plenty of credits/money/whatever the currency is as you level...And of course, each level = stronger guys, which results in the obvious, Better 'drops'
In one playthrough you should be maxed...
Anyways, thats my opinion.
