The French game has not been released, it was an illegally obtained copy.
Also, you do NOT play as a terrorist, but as a special forces operative who has infiltrated the Russian Terrorist's inner circle.
While it may not be nice, it's simply realistic. If IW want to go for full realism in the game, they can.
It's also been noted that it is possible to not take part in the gameplay of this, and instead watch it as an extended cutscene. Either way, it's key to the story.
