Exactly as it says. Note-
I DO NOT ENDORSE SOFTWARE PIRACY IN ANY SHAPE OR FORM...however, in cases like this, if you DON'T crack it, you can't play it.
It's bullshit, end of story. (more...)

However, not ALL games have this issue, and a great deal of the games people claim do, DO NOT, they are just cheap fucks who burned/downloaded the game and can't get it to work.
BULLSHIT- DEFINED FOLKS. ISN'T AN OPINION, ITS FACT, and FACT THAT COST ME MONEY, TIME, AND SHOWS YOU WHAT EXACTLY IT LOOKS LIKE, WHEN MY LAST NERVE IS SHOT IN REAL TIME. (less...)

he does have a point though, but he is way too aggressive.

Hah irony, i've run into this myself, using an Image of a game that i legally own (reading from HD is faster than CD). On a win-98 or XP machine (or using win-98/xp emulation with vista), the copy protection would stop me from playing it. However, with vista, it ignoreed this protection, and allowed me to play the games uncracked.
Also, Daemon tools has a decent SecuRom emulator, not 100%, but it's still good.

Which is why I purchased the game.
Not only is GRID good, but it also promotes DRM-free games.
Another great DRM-free game is Sins of a Solar Empire.

Grid does not even have a cd key. You could have downloaded it and owned the full version even with online play.
