Do you lose your golden guns when you go through prestige mode? if so why get them before you reach prestige level 10?

Yeah it's not too hard to get the golden guns, course I dont have any yet cause im bad at headshots and im not a lvl 55.

To get the gold skin for guns you must complete every challenge in it's category. For example you get the golden Mini-Uzi by completing all SMG challenges. There is only one gun in each class that has the gold skin. The golden Desert Eagle is unlocked at level 55 and I think it has a 10% damage increase over the standard Desert Eagle.
