Compression Blast. Overpowered against soldiers. Team Fortress 2

The compression blast shield area is too wide leaving no room whatsoever for splash damage. That's what's overpowered. Everything else, in my opinion, it's pretty balanced.

    Who care's realy how wide it is?

    If a rocket shoots the rockets as fast as he can, pyro can deflect only 2 of them.

    Its hard to make either of them hit and you can either shotgun down a pyro trying to finish you off or try to shotgun off a escaping pyro.

    now think to yourself, how often are you going to face off with a single pyro vs a single soldier whilst not moving in game, the compression blast is that wide because otherwise it would be damned near impossible to use in game (i find it damned near impossible to reflect rockets with it as it is), remember in game, your moving and you wont be firing single rockets,

    Now, about your other arguments I think they're fine, but none of them really justify having a compression blast shield being about 5-6 pyros wide which is the ONLY thing discussed here.

    @ BloodyIron : that's not the point. The ONLY thing that I'm presenting here is how wide the compression blast is. Absolutely nothing else. Now, if you could post arguments about why the compression blast "shield" should be that wide, then we can talk.

    Sorry rabidchickin, the backburner has NOTHING to do with this video. Try the valve forums for those opinions. Now, about being pessimistic I don't think so. All I've presented is facts presented in a video. A pyro compression blast shouldn't have a "shield" 6 pyros wide. That's ALL that is being discussed here.

    The compression blast is completely balanced and if anything it makes the game more balanced. Now pyros actually have a chance to survive without being blasted to pieces by soldiers every time they spawn. Also the chances that you are going to see the rocket when you're focused on other combat is very unlikely and it would cause you to stop firing for a brief second and leave you vulnerable. The representation you've made is pessimistic. It's the backburner that is overpowered. In normal circumstances you can submerge the heavy and the medic in fire before the heavy has a chance to say "FIRE!" Tell me that's not overpowered.

    Gah, i hate it when people bitch about these weapon packs, its not like pyro is the only class with its weapon pack. Remember all the playtime the doctor suddenly had with the new stuff, i would go in a game, and both teams would have 8 Doctors. The soldier pack will balance it out. And the compression blast is pretty hard to time when theres more than one soldier shooting at you while moving, and you have to conserve your flame ammo anyway, or by the time you reflect the rocket and get in there, you have to attempt to axe or shotgun him.

    first weapon; compression blast seen here
    new weapon; they have more health than you and are faster and they can retreat and use their flare gun
