Lord of the Rings Online allows you to use the .abc music system ( google it if you don't know what it is )
By using this system, we can take songs, and translate them into ABC, with each individual part being played by other players.
for example I might type /play test_song1 sync
and a friend in the group types /play test_song2 sync then when both are ready we begin the song, and the two players play in sync together.
In the case of this song, we were playing about 5 players. You can play in a raid at up to 24 players but that would be chaos. The most we have done is 8 player I think and that was difficult.
Let me answer the two posts posted here:
Lilgrim13, Thank you glad you like it, Yes, let me assure you the characters are making the music, no overlayed music :)
Friibyrd, well as I have explained above this is a complete music system, with 3 full octaves to work with.
Players can play, Flute, Clarinet, Horn, Bagpipe, Drum, Cowbell, Lute, Therobo ( bass lute ) Harp.
You can create your own songs, play them with the .abc playback system, or, you can even play free hand with a midi adaptable keyboard, or, using your own computers keyboard and using keys 1-8 crtl 1-8 and shift=1-8
Lord of the Rings online is the very first game to offer players full real world options to show their musical skills and talents.
And to your question:
What is the point of this video?
As the heading says, it is for a friend named Ted who is a musician and my kinship in Lord of the Rings Online wanted to do this video for him.
I'm glad you all liked this video!
I had fun making it with my friends.
