    Nice read man. I definitely agree with the whole "metal weakens your resolve to listen to 'normal' music" thing. And while not completely related, I notice that these days I find it much harder to listen to music with "clean" vocals. The music has to really stand out for me to listen to it if that's the case. Too much technical and brutal death metal I guess. :P

    I know what you mean about emotion though. If a song doesn't carry enough emotion that I can connect to it, I can definitely tell when I try to play it.
