  • Help With Nightmares

wowlord, you're not the only one that has frequent nightmares. If I dream at all it's a nightmare, what I learned to do was lucid dreaming simply because anti-depressants caused me to go into blind rages (I never hurt anyone though). When dreaming, becoming completely and conciously aware and being able to change the dream while dreaming. I first didn't believe it was possible, but after a week of losing sleep having nightmares you tend to find something. Anti-depressants only made things worse for me. It took about a little while to learn to do this but you may catch on faster. If anyone doesn't know how to learn to do it, it's just basically meditating when you're in a quiet area and you have time close your eyes and quiet your mind. If you start thinking or imagining, let it pass. After a while you may feel like you're floating, you're just relieving stress. Most importantly, don't get too comfortable that you fall asleep, I did it sitting up without leaning on anything so when I fell back i usually hit my head and wake up. Eventually you'll be able to change your dreams instantly and not lose sleep.

By the way, some people believe that is also how you learn to be psychic. If you hear voices, see a doctor...I haven't heard dead people nor have I seen the future. Good luck.

  • Wowmodelviewer trick...

the way to do it in model viewer is:
    1. Take the image you want and make sure it's a perfect square image like 512x512 or something that will work in model viewer.

    2. Load it in model viewer.

    3. Choose character

    4. Choose the walk animation.

    5. Use the arrow keys to "walk" across the picture and shoot it with a capture software like the wegame client or fraps.

    6. Insert it into your movie editor.

Alternatively, if using Premiere or Vegas you can just shoot the toon moving or doing what you want on a blue screen and use chroma keying. You can use a tutorial I made http://www.wegame.com/watch/Quick_tutori... to quickly learn how to input images, chroma keying, and masking. It goes kinda fast but you can always pause it and catch up.

  • A little help, new to machinima

actually you can do machinima in Movie Maker but it's incredibly difficult. You have to load the background in model viewer, move your toon around to what you want, and the draw back to using movie maker is one functioning toon per scene unless model viewer is able to use gif animation files but I doubt it. If you're using other programs there's plenty of tutorials on youtube.com or you can use http://www.wegame.com/watch/Quick_tutori... as one tutorial to help if you use Vegas Pro 8, beware it goes kinda fast. Don't be afraid to pause.

that's actually very interesting and inciteful. I don't know about you or anyone else who reads this but I'll admit that I'm addicted to art, mostly drawing and writing. It's the one addiction that I don't care to stop because I'm actually enjoying it and not harming anyone like drug addicts would. If I can't find the money for supplies, I use what I can find or have. I never actually try to ignore it, for the past few weeks I've taken up playing video games again and watching movies looking for inspiration. As far as the psychological problems go, I already know what my problems are in that area which usually comes out in my art whether I like it or not. Thanks for the help so far guys, keep them coming. And if the wegame staff would like to chip in for anyone else that has these problems....MAKE A COMMENT!!! =P Things like this will help people out a lot in realizing that they're not alone and others handle it in various ways.

My way, in general, is usually playing something. Whether it's with my nephew and nieces when they've come over, the dogs, video games, or simple card games. If I don't get inspired from that, I've learned to let my subconcious create my art rather than me trying to control it. Which is actually how I started More Than Broken, I wanted a Draenei Paladin attacking my warlock and it went out of control from there with very little story information.

  • Please Help!! Vegas Users!!

yeah, with the chroma keying in Vegas Pro 8 you don't want to use colors that would even be a small part of the item you're using. Lemonade, you can try to use a red background and see what happens. Have to experiment with it. Have you tried to adjust the slider bars on the chroma keyer window to see if you can make it look a bit better, go too far and you'll have this weird little square in the scene though.

thanks for the tips guys, if I could get out I would. My illness, unfortunately, is Chronic Idiopathic Urticaria (which can get bad to the point of possibly lethal). I used to love wooded areas. On top of that, a "wonderful" psychological problem I inherited from both sides of my family. Miracula, I can't say that I know how you feel with fibromylgia, but my dad does. That's one of his problems along with around 10 other illnesses, including but not limited to bone degenerative and muscle degenerative diseases. Though I don't know the pain you go through, I know how it feels being a loved one watching someone go through it. I wish you the best of luck and good health with that.

@Katana- I agree you can't get inspiration by trying to get inspiration. Before I had to quit drawing, painting, and sculpting by hand rather the computer, my muse was....well....pretty much any beauty including that in women and nature.

Oh, in no way do I inform of my illnesses or my current situation to get sympathy. I've handled this for years and honestly don't like sympathy of my problems. I have it lucky compared to most in the world.
