WeGame hack tolerance?
Zorlac,
Get off your high horse for just a minute and realize that games are meant to be enjoyed. If a kid has fun shooting through walls in Counter Strike, power to him. I still play Starcraft on B.Net regularly and since that game is ancient and barely monitored anymore, I simply assume my opponent(s) are maphacking. This hasn't stopped me from enjoying the game for 8+ years.
If I run across hackers, I either smile and enjoy the show or if I'm in a serious mood, I leave and find a new server or play with friends via private rooms or Hamachi. (VPN)
Bringing morals into this discussion by advising Bill to take a 'class on morals' puts you in the realm of absurdity. There is nothing at all, in any sense of the word, immoral about writing/using hacks for a game. If using such programs violates the terms of a particular service (such as battle.net) you may be banned from such services but that does NOT make it 'immoral.' If someone doesn't play a game the way you think they should, you label them immoral. Sad, really.
As for the current policy 'hurting the site.' I feel allowing this sort of 'homebrew' content gives the site a more personal feel. Banning all private server / hacking related videos (as you suggest) would take away the close gamer community atmosphere and replace it with a canned corporate feel.
