  • Several Suggestions for Wegame.com

Thanks for the reply Jared! Yes I see your point about the 20 minute limit now.

That also just gave me a new idea for a suggestion :D How about making a function to allow users to flag objectionable content? You know, like if we come across a video such as a southpark episode as you have mentioned, we can flag it for your staff to review and take further action if necessary.

  • Several Suggestions for Wegame.com

    Hi there,

First off, I'm new here. Just got kicked out of Vimeo for "gameplay videos" and I think I might have found a home here. If you guys wanna kick me out, at least send me an email warning me first ok? :)

Anyway, here's a couple of suggestions for the website.

    1. Have an estimated time left on the upload of the video. It'll help if you put the upload speed there too. The ultimate is of course, size of file, size uploaded so far, speed of transfer, and the percentage.

    2. Have a batch uploader function on the website. People like me who get kicked out of a previous site have heaps of videos to upload. Doing them one at a time is a pain ... :D

    3. Perhaps create "channels" or "collections" for us. You know, so that we can lump certain videos of the same ilk together in a collection. It makes it easier for us to link to a collection of a specific type of videos. Right now I'm thinking about my own needs (of course hee!) where I have both machinima and gameplay videos, and I'd like to separate them out into 2 distinct collections.

    4. Allow tagging of videos, like how Youtube and other sites are doing.

    5. Why a 20 minute limit? I would have thought a size limit would be enough, and you're already very generous with allowing 1GB files to be uploaded. Anyway if you encode a video properly, you can fit a 1 hour video into about 400MB, which is well under your 1GB limit.

Well, thanks for reading at least. Hope at least a few of these will be taken into consideration for future "features" of this website!

  • Embedding Sizes

    Bill,

Thanks for the link, but, no disrespect intended to the author of the tool, it calculates the aspect ratio incorrectly for my vids. The all come out looking squashed.

Anyway I found the correct size for my blog after trying out abit - 400 x 320.

  • Batch Uploader?

    Hi all,

Right now, for me, the Wegame client is practically useless. For screenshots and video captures of ANY game (not just "supported games"), FRAPS and Xfire both do very well.

However, if the client had a BATCH UPLOAD function, for us to select video files from our computers to upload, then it'll be really useful.

Why? Cuz I am one of the victims of Vimeo who killed my account without warning for having "gameplay videos". So now I think I have found a home in Wegame.com but I have a lot of videos to upload, and doing them one at a time is painful... :(

Cool I hope it's soon. Right now I'm just having trial-and-error at keeping the aspect ratio when resizing the embeds by hand...
