I never worry too much about audio.
If you want a cool trick to make it "seem" like your video is better than most,on every sound effect of something like a car driving by,go into event fx of the audio clip,and go into "pan" that will make the sound come out more from either the left or right speakers,and you can make your sounds seem more realistic and believeable that way,and it's also a lot nicer to watch something and hear something different compared to most machinimas where all the sound comes out the same through both speakers.
I just hit "render as" then go into the custom options,I make the video display 720x480 which I think is NTSC widscreen 16:9 and as long as your footage was widescreen then it'll look great on wegame,I've only started doing that recently though...
Check your clips preferences,and look at their resolution etc,and always make sure you go into each clips "crop/pan" option,and right click the box and make it "same as aspect ratio" so your clips won't be stretched etc.
