A list of tips for Halo 2 multiplayer

In close range, you can dish out much more damage if you're wielding two guns. Depending on your playing style and the guns available to you, you can come up with a number of combos to get kills. The plasma rifle/smg combo is a good weapon for multiple targets whereas the pistol/smg combo is better for taking out single players. The plasma pistol/smg combo works pretty well also, but will leave you vulnerable if you miss your charge shot or if you're facing several opponents.
The Plasma Pistol/Battle Rifle combo is a very effective combo, because it gives you effective killing potential at close, medium, and long range. At close to medium range, you can hit them with a plasma pistol, and then shoot them in the head with the rifle. At long range, just use the Battle rifle.
Grenades: Practice throwing them frequently. If you hit an opponent with a frag grenade and shoot htem in the head, they die in one shot. Experiment with throwing them against walls, around corners, anticipating where they're moving, and eventually you'll get better at using grenades.
Know how to move around the map. Try to always flank your opponent, don't go into rooms you're clearly outnumbered unless you throw a grenade in first. Don't be discouraged if you die alot at first, eventually you'll get the hang of moving around the map and knowing which weapon combos work best in each map.
