Counter-Strike Patch

Since the release of the Steam Client, Counter-Strike patches and updates are not supported unless you are using Steam. If you really want a standalone patch for Counter-Strike 1.6 or older, you can find some by searching torrent sites although you should take caution to avoid virus-infected downloads if you choose to do this.

Steam games are automatically kept up-to-date with the latest content and revisions, so simply download the Steam Client and all your Counter-Strike and Half-Life engine games will be updated immediately upon activation.
