Introduction

The Spore Creature Creator
is one of the key parts in the game Spore. This piece of software allows players to unleash their imagination and create their own creatures. The creatures you’ve created will automatically be animated by the program in a natural way and placed in your own Spore universe, were you’ll be able to upgrade/evolve them as the game progresses. ReleaseAs of june 17th, 2008, Electronic Arts, the creators of spore, released two standalone versions of the spore Creature Creator, though one of those was leaked onto the Internet several days prior to launch.
One of the versions was a free demo which gives you about 25% of the total parts you could use in the creation of your creature, the other was a paid version ($9.95) which has every part in it.

Launch

The launch of the stand alone versions was heavily anticipated even before it was officially announced due too the E rating it received from ESRB early March 2008, indicating that the editor would be released separately well before the game’s release as a standalone utility program.
Options In both versions you get the chance to see your creature in a test environment, this environment allows you go through a several animations and you’ll be able to move your creature around freely and even spawn offsprings for your creature to interact with.

You also get several other nifty little things with both versions, for example, you can record the actions of your creature, create animated avatars of your creature.
Finally, you can also upload or import creatures to a huge database called Sporepedia, at Spore.comMiscellaneousShortly after it’s introduction, the Spore creature creator was used to create creatures with oversized genitalia, or gave the impression of two or more creatures having sexual intercourse with each other. This phenomenon was quickly known as “Sporn”.Electronic Arts responded with e-mails sent to those who made pornographic machinima from its demo, and has flagged certain on-line accounts for "TOS violations".  Furthermore, YouTube has pulled several such videos for violations of its own TOS.Within in a week, Spore fans all over the world uploaded over one million creatures to Spore.com.
