Okay, so I've been having this huge problem lately while I'm using ventrilo. Every time I'm playing World of Warcraft, and I'm on ventrilo, after about an hour or so the sound goes off and I can't hear any regular sounds coming from the computer nor within the game itself. I've tried muting the game sound, then restarting WoW after I've exited Ventrilo, and it still didn't have any sound to it after I turned the in game sound back on. After I'd go and just mute the sound from the laptop completely after I've exited WoW and then turn it on (Sometimes that works) but most of the time it doesn't.

Any suggestions? Remember I'm on a laptop so yeah...It's been going on since I reinstalled ventrilo, but before that it did that too. It's just a hassle when I'm trying to raid or record stuff to use later on on WeGame. I'm just frustrated over all and I really would love some suggestions from you guys or tips.

If you have the in game voice enabled, turn it off, there was a problem for a while where wow was stealing sound resources from other voice programs. If it's not that, try updating the sound drivers on your laptop, it may actually help.

Most likely you mapped a control key as your push to talk button. Control + S disables audio. Remove that from the keybindings and the audio will not cut out anymore.

I kind of have the same problem, but when I turn on vent, i hear the joining sound, and then all sounds, including outside game sounds go blank. I tried to listen to just music, and nothing, just game sounds, nothing. Then i shut off vent, and then all sounds were restored. I've tried reinstalling, getting differen't sound drivers, and nothing is working. I just got a new sound card, and thats when it started happening. Good this be conflicting with Vent somehow?
