Chances are that if you're needing to email help@wegame.com then you're probably going to need to generate error logs for us. The steps to generating error logs may confuse some users, but hopefully this guide will help simplify this process. Step 1: Let there be logs! Before you go looking for your logs, you need to allow WeGame to actually generate them. To do this, navigate to the follow folder: Vista Users: Your logs and stuff are located in: C:\Users\YOUR USER NAME\AppData\local\wegame XP Users: Your logs and stuff are located in: C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR USER NAME\Application Data\wegame Replace YOUR USER NAME with, you guessed it, your user name on your computer. Notice how I said computer and not WeGame. Also, please realize that AppData / Application Data is a hidden folder. This means that you probably won't see it unless you have the ability to see hidden folders. If you can't see the AppData / Application Data folder then please visit the following site to see how to enable the viewing of hidden files and folders: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorial... Once you've found the folder above, open the file wegame.ini with any text editor (ie NotePad). You can do this by right-clicking on the file and selecting Open With and then choosing the desired program. Once you've opened the file add the following line: DebugLog = 1 Save the changes you've made to the file and then close it. Step 2: Gotta Log Em All! After having saved the changes, restart the WeGame client and then play the game(s) that is giving you troubles. Record a few segments and then exit the game. Note: This process is not meant to solve your problem! Debug Logs aren't a solution, they're a tool that help us figure out what the heck is going on with WeGame and your system. Thus, if your game was crashing after recording then it's still going to be crashing after you record. By generating error logs you're basically helping us help you. Step 3: Logs Are Go! Now that you've recorded some stuff with logging enabled you should now have some worthwhile logs. Return to the folder that was mentioned in Step 1. Click on the logs folder and there should be some logs there. If there is only one log file named echelon_error.log then you've probably done something wrong. You should have multiple log files. For example, there should at least be a wegame.log and a wg_something.log (where something is the name of the exe for your game). Attach all of the logs in the specified folder to an email and send them over to help@wegame.com. We'll take a look at your logs and get back to you regarding your problem. Congratulations! You've just successfully helped us debug WeGame! |
