I've found several duplicate weapons (that I've already earned through achievements!) and hot the halo of course --- but not got a single hat! I only play for an hour or so a night, but surely I should have found at least one hat by now. The whole random awards thing is screwed... would be better to earn credits through achievements and spend them on stuff you want.

That's my point just random players get them not the good ones and you won't get hats for your most played classes ( maybe this is done by valve so you'll discover more classes)
