For ALL People Who Pre-Ordered L4D2 :

why don't you just try the demo. The game is so good it should be a gamers' mandatory

Is the demo even out for people who didn't pre-order it? I have checked the steam store but I couldn't find it.

I'm not whining at all. I was just stating why I thought Valve was adding to hat. Hey, I can't help you guys are religiously standing by Valve. I just dont' feel the game is worth the purchase for me. That doesn't mean I hate the game, or will never buy it. (weekend deal/christmas sale go go). Seriously though. Steam is Valve's creation. If I were in their shoes I'd do everything in my power to assure my games stayed atop the sales charts.

So yes, with that said, they are probably upset that borderlands has been ourselling L4D2 for so long, and they're trying to get their own game back on top. I dont' see why you guys are getting so defensive over that. It's simple marketing, and you don't have to go to marketing/business school to understand that.

Something strange did just happen. I played on a server, map was koth_harvest_final and and then after some time it said that someone found Bill's hat. But the person did not join in that moment, he was already there when I joined.
So can the hat also be found and pre-ordering is just a way to get it faster? Or was it fake? Looked very legit.

I belive that this should be moved to general gaming since it discusses 2 games and has no stable one...MOVE HAMMER GO!

You find the hat the same as any other item, it appears when you die, and the message pops up, for instance: Seeth has found: Bill's Hat.

Also, one thing that saddens me about people buying L4D2 just for that is that they don't realise that they're also buying an amazing game. People are whining about it costing them for a hat, when its a smart marketing move by Valve. I really hate the steam community for thinking that Valve are selling hats when its actually a game.

I do not understand why some people are so negative about it.
It is not like pre-ordering costs you money.
I know that MW2, L4D2 and Borderlands are hot games so i pre-ordered it so i do not have to worry about stores not having an extra copy for me and all this pre-order gifts = love them (why not? It's free stuff.)
