 I'm 100% percent certain I'll get hooked on this, for 2 reasons.

1) I LOVE the sims2, yeah hate me all you want but I think it kicks ass :P

2) I also LOVE Black & White 2, what I like to do is fill up the entire island with one huge city, so spore will be similar except instead of an island I have a universe, and I can unleash some customised creativity on it's ass at the same time.

Then again I might be hooked on GTA iv, Mercenaries 2 and all sorts of other games before then

 Videos of this were being shown off years ago. Since it hasn't come out for ages since then, my bet is it will be a total letdown ("we waited years for THIS?" lol)

On the other hand, Crysis was a huge disappointment but I still enjoyed playing through it a few times...

 So True Coedman, if you didn't have a new computer or windows vista (or DX10) your comp would've been crap compared to it. Its a good game, but what tones it down is that it has a average storyline and the graphics needs are so high it makes it a unplayable game! well for the average gamer with average computer.

 We haven´t gotten any facts as to what specs are required to play the game.. We´ve only seen estimates by computer game magazines that have seen/tried the game.

The graphics looks tight, but knowing that its Maxis who is making this game, I bet that they will also make sure that computers with lower-than-average cards can play too.

 True Cowtipper, But i saw the "Newer" Version of Spore...And i say it got toned down so much it looks cartoony, Yes cartoony, bright, colourful, and much more. We can't make our new houses anymore (I Think) it makes the normal huge houses you see everyday, Which i think is bad...I like how i can sculpt my own place! make it bigger...better...more cooler and to my look! but now...the gaming has gone so simplified i look a bit disgusted at it

 You can still make your own houses as far as I know... I read something in a magazine about the game, and I´ve seen all the new stuff, the cartoony graphics (which aren´t that big of a deal in my eyes... Just look at TF2. Huge succes!) and also some of the different ways to win in different areas of the game.

 yeah you can make your own buildings, vehicles creatures and even the planets :O
