I don't use passwords anymore because 1) there is no important data on my computer 2) starts up faster 3) I am the only one who uses it with the few exceptions when a family member uses it to print something. Do you guys use passwords for your home PC? If so, why?

4) You can boot off a Linux "live cd" and have full access to the filesystem anyways.

Even if you're using whole disk encryption, you can't "secure" your computer unless you can prevent physical access to it. Hardware keyloggers do exist.

You should probably use a password anyways (and lock your comp with Windows Key + L when you walk away from it) to prevent unauthorized use. Yes, your family members may not have malicious intent, but what happens when they click that popup malware ad when they're searching for something on the internet? Congrats, you just had malicious code run on your computer with full administrative privileges.

I do, I probable need to fix that but I'm lazy. I just had it set up like that as a kid so 1. I thought it was safer *I didn't get internet till like 8 so STFU!* 2. I'd like to know my parents can't enter my computer :D No Joke, they always had to ask what the password was when I was a kid when I got a virus :D *Also fucking Google, I get all my viruses from you, and FPSBanana but now I use Google Chrome (WAIT WTF?, something I hate helped me....)*

I don't use password to acces my computer. I do have files and
datas that are not for everyones eyes but those folders are locked
with software like "Lock my Folder" or any similar software, or
even with RAR sometimes.
