I've been thinking about making something like this, but I figured out the WG staff would probably make a new skin for it themselves, that fits the site's style better.

i looked in the folder and there is a .skn folder, i heard some programs can edit them

update: its the aui skin tool from microsoft, then i guess you could open the skin and it has the pictures and bmps and xml and all that crap. but i suggest you backup the default file first.

Skinning Steam is super-easy. I've experimented with it myself, without using any tutorials.
