I think he could handle it.

Upgrading RAM is a very trivial task.

Step 1: Open case
Step 2: Insert RAM into slot
Step 3: Close case
Step 4: ???
Step 5: Profit!

a child could complete the physical half of putting a computer together its like a really crappy lego set

the problem is software or at least thats what ive found

obv ram doesn't have any real software issues to installing

what operating system are you running? if youve got vista download a pirated xp and dual boot or i heard about a program that lets you use flash memory as ram so your flash drive or portable hard drive for instance obviously this is very slow ram so the process will only be a bit faster then it would have been but you wont have an error message

Yeah, Vista and 7 have a built-in feature useful for those with little memory called ReadyBoost. You can use a USB flash drive as a swap file, though it's not nearly as fast as RAM. When you put any capable flash drive into your USB port, the message that pops up should have an option to use the drive for ReadyBoost.

To answer W4rhead's question, I have an XP and I'll probably just go out and buy some RAM
