Well, im using vegas(8.0), it very good and easy program, i have adobe pro too, but i cant use it, only my father can use premiere. i prefer vegas, it easyer to use. but if you wanna do something cool u need after effects too
I think the reason adobe might be better off voting for is because of a much simpler and nicer looking interface, with Adobe you have nice silver, grey and black menus, big buttons and everything is described perfeclty.
With vegas you open it up and are greeted by a huge cream shaded timeline, with so many icons and buttons you just don't want to get the hang of it.
I spent about 4 weeks non stop mastering it,and I haven't looked back once.Adobe on the other hand I'm still having trouble getting to grips fully with.
It reminds me of a MAC vs PC in an interface way,Adobe being the mac,it's simpler and easier to navigate for the typical user, but Vegas is like a pc where it can offer a lot more if you know how to get at it and what things to mix together etc.
Also Premiere integrates with after effects seamlessly,so it gets a lot of bonus points there.
Might give Adobe another go...who knows...

I am Sniper - Play Free Games
Though I've never actually used Adobe Premiere Pro, I can imagine that it is pretty straightforward. I use Vegas Pro 8 for all my videos and am having fairly satisfying results with it. The only limit holding me is my own skill.
Okay, I saw that one coming.
Hmm, it explains why I like sniper rifles so much.
Manipulative?
Many of you say that Premiere is more difficult to learn, but i think it's a matter of what you tried first. Even though Premiere has a few more features, they both have Chroma Key, which is the most important, and the interface is easy to understand on both. So if you are short on the money side, Vegas is a great software.
As the ex support manager of Avid Liquid ( I worked with it for 8 years) Liquid used to be my tool of choice. Sony's Vegas began life as an audio only editor and was very clunky to use in the past but has improved much.
I now use Premiere. The reason I use Premiere is due to the integration it contains with relation to Photoshop and After Effects. Those 2 tools were staples during my editing career and the tight integration that Adobe is working for takes the cake.
In all, either editor is capable of creating simple video. It's what the user finds is most comfortable to him is what really matters at the end of the day.
i vote on after effect.
but after effect is tho much harder to edit vids in. but its better at the effect side. try the sony vegas and primier at 30 days tria. try to make the same vid.
BUT
sony vegas only have 4 layers and primier pro got... ulimited but if you add more alyers it gonna be more MB and less quality :)
