Hello WeGamers! I recently discovered about this game, it looks beautiful and very fun. I'd love to download it, but Im kinda messing with my hard drive at the moment, so I have to wait....Discuss? (PS. Id love to see this game available to be recorded by the WeGame client..thing) Anyway when/if I do begin to play, Im interested in the Deva Cleric or the Gaia Kahuna. http://rappelz.gpotato.com/ |

Its a free MMO, and I normally don't like free MMOs. All the same grinding process again and again.
Apparently, the multiple signature thing is in fashion now.

I suppose I could put in my opinion on Rappelz, since I had played it once during the closed beta (3x Deva Holy Warrior), and played it again fairly recently. (up to...uhhh, 3x Deva Cleric I think). Rappelz is in it's 4th "Epic", which seem like major content patches more than anything, and Epic 5 is coming out soon, apparently. As far as the looks go, the scenery is nice and the models are well done, however the animations could use a tiny bit of work still. Not to mention monster models are used over and over again, with slight colour shifts. For the first 30 or more levels, you'll probably be fighting either birds, turtles, or cats; skeletons and gremlins; or orcs, yetis, and centaurs. A quirk in the game actually allows you to do a sort of "animation cancelling" to use attack skills/attack quicker. Pressing attack when the animation is finished for the last skill you used will get another attack out quicker than just leaving it. I particularly like the pet aspect of the game. You take a card of the specific pet type you want (turtle, chicken, angel, blue/red pixie, orc, etc.), you "tame" the creature specified on the card (which can fail, leaving you without a card), and you get a pet to run around with you killing things. The pets are highly controllable (shift+click makes your pet move instead of you), but tend to be on the squishy side, even with the tanking type pets. A few things I find that annoy me is that health and mana regenerate VERY slowly, even while sitting. All activated skills use mana, and some classes run out much quicker than others. This leaves a lot of downtime for some classes, with the other classes having to wait. And of course, the grind tends to get awful in the high 20s to mid 30s. The quest variety is almost 0 (kill these things. done? Here's some exp, now kill those things!). Getting some of the better pets tends to take a little bit of grinding, especially when the success rate to tame them is 1/40 at best. I'm pretty sure I saw someone call it a "Lineage 2" clone/imitator, save the pet stuff. I say try it a bit, it's 100% point and click, but it may not be your thing. |
