FlyFF was probably my second major MMORPG outing (after Runescape), and I had begun playing around the end of the open beta phase. Gpotato (Gala-net at the time) was just acquiring the game as their first of the many they have now. Hacking rampant, I didn't get much out of the game at the time

Then it came out for real, and I didn't notice for a bit. I soon caught wind of it being released, and I eagerly downloaded it to give it another try.

From what I remember the leveling was slow almost right off the bat. Little cash meant no money for food, which meant long downtime. Eventually, I hit the first job transfer, and became an assist. This was both a blessing and a curse. On one hand, they are able to AoE down large groups of mobs for crazy-fast experience. On the downside, people almost constantly asked for buffs.

But I went through, joined a guild that had some international players (The Netherlands!) whom I still talk to today. Eventually I hit that holy grail, the second job transfer. It was a long and hard road, and you will get bored easily without people to play with or talk to.

I stuck through when the introduction of rangers and "unique" equipment. It wasn't that big of a change, and I even tried out the ranger class, but wasn't impressed.

Then I quit for a while, since a lot of people stopped playing as well. I came back to it only recently to find that it's become practically a whole new game. The "power dice" that I knew and loved had turned into moonstones and sunstones. Many equipment pieces could now be "awakened" for stat additions (both good and bad), and so many other things changed that I had to practically learn it all over again.

Overall, it was fun when I was playing with other people, but the grind sucked. Now, the game has gotten...complicated to a point that I find it confusing.

I played Flyff back in the way early days when it was in early beta. it was pretty awesome back then. Is topped when it got to the point in development where you had to hell out cash in order for your potions to be effective.

LAME!
