Anyone here ever played FFXI? ^_^ For me, it was my first MMO and I have been playing for 4 years since my 15th Birthday =) 4 expansions, 20 jobs, hundreds of areas, missions, quests, spells, items, monsters. Its just epic. Currently I play a Level 72 Elvaan Paladin, completed one expansion's storyline, half way through 2 expansion stories, completed my nation's story and having a hell of a lot of fun beating up orcs >=D If anyone does play, what job do you play/prefer and which server are you on? ^_^ I'm on Quetzalcoatl server =D

I've been a long time fan of Final Fantasy, and after 2 years of World of Warcraft I was looking for a new MMO to play. I tried out EverQuest 2, and it was alright, I also tried out a bucket load of free MMOs (like Silkroad Online for example). Tell me though, does FFXI have a trial? If so I'll be happy to give it a shot! I'm also thinking about trying out Lineage II.

Yes FFXI has a Trial disc. However I think the best bet with FFXI is to get the upcoming 2008 edition of the game so that you have all the updates. That way you won't have to download 9000 files for each expansions updates. Both the Trial disc and the full game have a 30 day free subscription anyway. Also, there are several sites you may want to look into first to make your decision about what type of character you want. FFXI was never intended to be a PvP game anyway, the dev team only implemented it because of the US release. Hope this info helps.

HELLO im Redchaos TaruTaru SMN75/WHM37 on Remora ill post videos once i get my new laptop and the 2008 version of FFXI i started out on a elvaan rdm back when the ps2 version came out in the us and been on ps2 since 4-5 ps2 systems later i decided to upgrade after getting my economic stimulus payment on my elvaan i was a total noob never getting anything worth while but on my tarutaru i started rdm jumped on smn took it to 75 then restarted rdm i own tons of rare items i never thought i would own ex. Joyeuse, Astral Signa, Yinyang Robe, Summoner's Bracers,Tamas Ring,Evoker's Ring, Moldivite Earring all in all the games story is awe inspireing and the cs dont contain audio dialog but the story is so entranceing u dont even notice the official site for FFXI on Windows Vista Is: http://www.playonline.com/ff11us/downloa...

Picked FFXI up a few years ago, was maybe abit young back then, very serious mmo tbh, hard to level etc. Was only like 14 then, used to WoW etc :)
