I`m starting to understand why this game got banned in Australia... (I still think their retarded and I feel sorry for Australian gamers for missing out)

In the beginning of the demo I was sort of unprepared, and felt kinda disturbed watching screaming zombies running towards you with a big hole in their stomachs, with intestines crawling out and his ribcage was showing, but now I`m more used to it and think it`s kinda badass. :P

To quote Eddie Riggs:
DECAPITATIOOOOOOOOON!

And I love the way Valve made the intestine-system, here`s a fun story from the Steam forums.

WARNING: Graphic event about to be described with pic.

I killed a zombie near the pier in the first map by shooting it in the crotch with the shotgun.

To my amazement, this caused a cavity in the crotch exposing the intestines, causing the zombie to flip over the railing, and in the process of his backwards fall an exit wound is spotted on his butt, and his intestines comes out (of his butt exit wound no less), gets snagged onto the railing, and he falls over bungee style using his own intestines as the cord...

I slowed the game down to a crawl to quickly take some screen shots of this mid way.

I was left speechless... o.O;

What do you guys think about the gore in L4D2? And would you have bought it if it only had the Australian version?

I think the gore is quite a big part of the game and wat it has to offer , since gore makes killing zombies have a better feel . No , i dont mean i love L4D2 because of the gore , but the gore really helps to make it more critical where to hit , and makes your hit feel like they pack more of a punch :D

Really sucks for German and Australian gamers. The gore rocks in this game.

Yeah, but at least we German gamers are allowed to import our games/movies/... :)
So it does not really matter, just takes some more days regarding the delivery.^^

I'm not quite the biggest fan of the gore...while at times its good and satisfying it looks a bit over the top and I hope they put in a setting to turn it off and on like in GoW. Of course I am still gonna get it either way. =P

If you think that zombies running around with holes in their stomach hanging out is disturbing, then maybe the Horror genre isn't for you. I mean, a non-decomposed/dismembered zombie really isn't a zombie after all now is it?

If you think L4D is over the top then check out some images from Land of the Dead. It's one of the more recent Romero films. Yeah, L4D has nothing on real zombie movie gore.

George Romeros land of the dead is great-- Left 4 Dead 2 gore is just as awesome cos you get blood all over EVERYTHING and it makes me piss myself everytime there intestines come out lmao.

I find Saw hilarious, too. But im dark humoured like that..

Main difference is that L4D2 "zombies" not really are zombies, but diseased humans.

I`m not saying it wasn`t badass, just mildly disturbing in the beginning. Gore in movies looks more like props and plastic heads to me, actually. (In before "L4D is pixels on a screen"...)

Now when I look back at it it`s really satisfying to blast a giant hole in a guy`s stomach instead of just a tiny blood squirt and then they fall over. >:D

And why does getting disturbed have to be a bad thing? Why am I not allowed to play horror games just because of that? I thought that was the main point of horror.
