First a picture :O

Specs:-

Proccesor - 3.00ghz Dual Core 6mb Cache 1033mhz front bus

Ram - OCZ Nvidia Sli 4gb (2x2gb) 800mhz Ram,latency timings 5-4-4

Graphics - XFX 8800GT (1gb alpha dog xxx edition)

Data Storage - 750gb Hard Drive 1000rpm

Case and Cooling - Antec 900 "Ultimate Gamer Case" internal cooling is inward fan at the top,two outward fans at the front, and one inward fan at the back.

Extra Cooling - Zalman 120mm Fan

Power Supply Unit - 800w/12v

It cost £700 and it's going to be used for filming my xbox 360,filming pc games with wegame (my single core struggled in the other pc) and for playing the newest pc games like crysis obviously :P

I'll do a bit of photoshop on here, video editing (hd video) and probably some games design since it's 3d capabilities are through the roof.Oh yes and music recording too :)

I'd love everyone to rate /10 overall,or in categories like :-
Thinking speed and power : /10
Graphics Proccesing: /10
Cooling: /10
Ram: /10
Storage: /10
Case Design: /10
Overall Coolness Levels : /10
Thanks!

Scores so far :-
Bapplebo:9/10 overall

That's a solid wiring job.

Thinking speed and power : Undecided/10 (what brand / model of processor?)
Graphics Proccesing: 7/10 - The 8800GT still has legs on its ass. \o/
Cooling: 9/10 - Pretty solid job.
Ram: 10/10 - Definitely the good stuff.
Storage: 6/10 - For video editing, I don't know if this is enough.
Case Design: 6/10 - I personally don't like extravagant case designs, so don't take this score seriously.
Overall: 9/10 - Great job!
Apparently, the multiple signature thing is in fashion now.

He's running the same CPU I am: C2D E8400 (45nm)

Nice job. Your rig is basically the same as mines (although you have a far larger HDD).

For video editing, 750 GB is more than enough. It's not like he's going to be working with raw footage or sound files.

If he was, he'd need a CAD designer card (like a Matrox) since the "gamer/enthusiast" 8800GT would not have the hardware specs or memory to handle video encoding/conversion of raw files.

Ye the 45nm is the new chipset isn't it?
/10 if you would :)
Then I'll add your score to the list...

What is the motherboard/CPU? Brand names and model numbers help.

Jul 27, 2008 07:09PM

It's an xfx 680i motherboard. It's the LT Edition though.

Reason I bought this was because if I ever do upgrade,I'll probably build one from scratch again,so the motherboard didn't have to be DDR3 or anything.

Another thing you should all take note on as well is the ram (ocz nvidia edition) works well with an "nforce" motherboard apparently, which I have. The gfx card is an xfx, which the back of the box reccomends you get.

So unless they've been bullshitting,I should get a little more performance than I would do on another board, but it probably won't make too much of a difference to notice, perhaps just lower temperature and optimised speeds.

Proccesor is e8400 dual core.As I said the newest ones with the 45nm chipset.

Ye that's the problem, this guy has my os disc and serial ready, but he keeps putting the visit on hold because of being "too tired" etc.
I've told him if he doesn't come tomorrow he loses a customer,so he should be around here at 3pm this afternoon (its 3am here in the UK now) so it should be up and running before tea time.

Xp ftw
Also does anyone think the wirings a bit messy?
The case is the best I've ever seen for the price, but the psu being at the bottom is a real nightmare. That's the only clean way of doing the cables really...

Ye it's only xp so I may as well download it,it's small enough,I'll torrent it tonight and ring him tomorrow and ask him for the serial key.

Failing all that, there is the "alternative" method ;-)

BTW ALL NIGHTER FTW!
