No thank you. I like wegame, and I dont' want to see them sued by Blizzard for letting their users promote illegal activities. When you realize what's at stake then you can speak on it, but until then....well, I have to say it. If you're not part of the soloution, you're part of the problem. |

Valzar, if you are trying to win someone's opinion. Cursing at them isn't the most effective way to go. And yes I agree with Zorlac. You know WoW is an experience that keep evolving. I had a blast with the last patch 2.4.x, a lot of fun. And Blizzard always keeps balancing the game to make it as good as it possibly can be, just as they did with Starcraft. But they will only continue to give us that service as long as we pay for it. And you who are not paying for the games that you play. You are the reason why there aren't more great games out there. I do hope that everyone can see that connection. And yes I have been playing on a private server, I even set up one myself. And I do also agree that the backwards engineering to get that server working is some tough job. But even if I did play on the server that I set up myself, I did during the time pay for the game. |

I hate most the private servers.. I was ranked 1 on one of them at one time.. Most of them let you hit 70 in one kill.. Give you all the best gear and then go "pvp" witch means, camp out the front of a major city and kill anything that moves.. BG's are raped in them.. Blah, just stupid overall. |

WoW Private servers are still very primitive. In a few years, they will have all the bugs worked out, but by then a new game will come out that has all our attention ; )

Zorlac, you're still around? Why won't you just quit trying to ruin people's fun? A lot of people like playing on private servers. Stop being a prude. Blizzard isn't going to "sue" anyone. At most they will kindly ask WeGame to have their moderators remove messages relating to private servers. Even then, WeGame doesn't have to cooperate. There are dozens of sites that OPENLY promote and discuss server emulation. Blizzard can't run around shutting down sites. Relax and enjoy playing on the official servers, stop ruining our experience.

Private servers aren't illegal in the overwhelming majority of countries in the world. Reverse engineering of software for reasons other than interoperability is illegal under the DMCA in the US, but writing a server emulator could be done using a "clean room" process. This is how ReactOS is writing a binary-compatible Windows clone legally. We're not promoting private servers, we're simply trying to educate you in an effort to lead you away from ignorance. :)

But doing that breaches Blizzards EULA and therefore they have every right to strip you of your license to play world of warcraft. Since it is THEIR game and therefore they can take your right to play it away...of course there is little they can do to enforce it but wegame should not support or provide information about such activities. technically with this attitude of 'reverse engineering games is A OK! " you might as well just open a forum for hacking. thats reverse engineering a game for purposes other then interoperability. and besides. which would you rather play on, a huge and powerful server farm or some teenagers computer thats located in their basement? |
