What are its failings so far "theineffablebob"?

It really strayed away from the GTA fun, you also die so much faster its unbeliveable.

It is a much better game, but it just takes time to adjust to GTA IV since it's such a leap in realism. After you get used to it and get into the swing of things you quickly realise just how amazing it is. Also, they made it a lot easier to die for two reasons, one Rockstar wanted to turn gta into an ultra-realistic game, as opposed to all the older ones, and so, dieing easier made sense seeing as how most people would die with a few shots anyway. They also made it harder to encourage players to use the cover system, and get players to think out a tactical plan, much like CoD.

I am really jealous of you guys too. I mean theoretically my family owns a copy of GTA IV and a PS3, but I can't really do much about it miles away in college... I guess I'll settle with SSBB (hehehe)

I think it's a really fantastic game. The depth of the content and the obvious freedom you can get with the GTA series mixed with the fantastic graphics makes the game absolutely fantastic. I have owned all of the previous games in the series (even the GTA...Stories games for PSP) and this is by far the best yet. I just want to do all the achievements and play the lot and I'm not even halfway thru the game yet.

It's just a huge game and will keep you amused for hours. I only bought my 360 to play it a few weeks ago but it's definitely worth it in my opinion. You won't go far wrong playing this game

@Suicid3

For one, the game has lost a lot of its goofiness, something I loved about the previous Grand Theft Autos. GTA IV, while not a "realistic" game per se, is too realistic when compared to the previous iterations. It's lost its charm, if you will. Also, many features present in GTA:SA and Vice City are not present in IV, such as the purchasing of property, car customization, wacky weapons, a large variety of different vehicles, and more. GTA IV is the most polished and visually detailed GTA yet, but I wouldn't call it the best.

Yeah, honestly, I think I still like SA more overall. If they did SA with IV's graphics, I'd spend a bundle for it.
Signature is currently undergoing bug testing.

@theineffablebob: Ahh okay I see. Thanks for the explanation. Yeah I'll be honest, I never got a chance to play San Andreas, so I figured, "Well I might as well wait for IV right? After all, it IS the newest one." But maybe I should check out SA...
